COACHES

Meet Our Basketball Coaches

HEAD VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL COACH

Terrell Green

Born in Tallahassee, Florida, a lifelong Florida State University fan, my love for basketball began at an early age and has fueled a coaching career spanning more than two decades.

In 2010, I accepted my first varsity coaching position at The Geneva School, where I helped lead the program for seven years with a focus on discipline, teamwork, and character. I continued my journey at Evans High School (2017–2022) as the Head Junior Varsity Coach, before moving to Lake Mary High School in 2022 to guide the next generation of athletes. I also brought my leadership and passion for development to Specialty Fit Academy, a sports-based high school, where he served as Assistant Head Coach for two years within their athletic program.

Over the course of 21 years, I have established myself as a dedicated and competitive basketball coach, known not only for my knowledge of the game but also for my ability to build strong programs and lasting relationships. Coaching is more than wins and losses. It is about instilling perseverance, building character, and preparing players for life beyond the hardwood. My career stands as a testament to my professionalism, my passion for the sport, and my unwavering belief in the power of basketball to change lives.

SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTOR/ HEAD JUNIOR VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL COACH

Jonathan Ortiz

Jonathan “Redd” Ortiz is originally from New York City, New York. Growing up in challenging environments throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx helped shape his passion for mentoring and developing young people. His mission is rooted in becoming the role model and support system he once needed as a child.

A former multi-sport athlete in basketball and baseball, Coach Ortiz has always led with passion, discipline, and a commitment to continuous growth. He strongly believes in the importance of community and lives by the mindset that “it takes a village” to positively impact the next generation.

Coach Ortiz has over 10 years of coaching experience and has served in educational administration and leadership roles for the past four years. He has also helped co-found one of the fastest-growing schools in Central Florida. Most recently, he was honored as the FACA District 11 Coach of the Year for his impact and leadership within athletics.

His leadership style is centered around teamwork, servant leadership, and creating meaningful opportunities for student growth both on and off the court.

At Pathways, our curriculum is based on the premise that children learn in different ways. Since Pathways opened in 1996, the goal of our dedicated staff has been to provide a safe and family-like atmosphere for students who may not fit the mold of the typical student in a traditional school.

ATHLETICS

Pathways currently offers Boys and Girls Basketball, Co-ed and Boys Flag Football, and Girls Volleyball. We are committed to continually expanding our athletic program each year to better meet the evolving interests and needs of our students.
